Your profile (username, gender, city, photo), your contacts, and the messages and images you send are stored on secured servers and backed up daily. Backups are also used to restore data if the website malfunctions.
Other users see only the chats they're part of. System moderators can access stored messages and photos, but only for user safety (for example, after a report), moderation, legal requests, or to help you with your account. Every moderator action is recorded in an internal log.
We don't sell your data or show it to advertisers. Voice and video calls are not recorded.
Messages hidden by Auto-delete may still exist in backups for up to 30 days before they're permanently removed.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your profile is removed immediately, and your data is removed from backups within 30 days.
"Private" means your chats are hidden from other users and the app can be disguised on your phone. It does not mean messages are end-to-end encrypted.
